How it works

  1. Photograph it

Point your camera at a plant, or pick a photo you already took. No signal? The find waits safely on your phone.

  2. Choose the name

Herbarium suggests likely species and shows reference images to compare. Nothing is saved until you choose.

  3. Press it into your journal

The species joins your collection with its drawing, the date, and where you found it. Add a field note if you like.

Every located find also appears on your Atlas, a map of everywhere you've looked.

A species page in Herbarium: Euonymus alatus, its common names, first-found date and place, a photo of the find, and a field notes section.

Identifications are suggestions, not expert verification. Never eat or use a plant based on one.

What it isn't

No feeds, no followers, no streaks. Your journal is yours alone — a calm record of the plants you've met, one find at a time.
